New Action Movie Due For Release
Posted by admin in Action Movies on November 11, 2011
There’s a new Australian movie released called Tomorrow When The War Began. It is based on the first in a series of seven books by popular Australian author John Marsden. Tomorrow When The War Began movie is based on a story of seven teens who go on a camping trip for a week and return to find the country has been invaded by a foreign enemy force.
After finding their homes abandoned and their families held captive in the town’s showground, they decide to work together against the enemy in true guerrilla style. They really have to step up and commit acts foreign to a normal teenager but actions that are necessary in order to save themselves and to try to stop the enemy force. It’s often a me or them scenario at times.
It’s a frightening situation they find themselves in – to come home to abandoned homes and their animals dying from starvation and dehydration; trying to find out what has happened to their families; being chased by enemy soldiers; one of their homes being blown up in front of their eyes; hiding out and trying to get rations to help them survive the ordeal.
The teens come up with ingenious plans to try and stop the enemy forces and show great courage and initiative in carrying out their plans. This is an action and adventure story of teenagers pushed to their limits and fighting for the freedom of their town and their families.
They can’t overcome the enemy on their own but they can certainly slow them down with the brilliant idea they form to blow up the main highway into their town. What they have to do in order to carry out their plan is filled with danger and the teens themselves are frightened out of their minds but they are not going down without a fight.
The Tomorrow When The War Began movie is produced to appeal to a teen audience but this coming of age story is sure to appeal to audiences both young and old alike. Many young people have enjoyed reading the book that the movie is based on – over two million copies of the book sold in Australia and New Zealand alone – so the movie should prove just as popular.
If you’d like to see the author John Marsden reading from the novel, as well as get the latest info and videos about the cast and the movie, then be sure to visit the The Tomorrow Movie site.

‘Takers’ Doesn’t Make Best Action Movies Ever List
Posted by admin in Action Movies on November 11, 2011
For best action movies ever, Takes was like a shorthanded version of Heat that Michael Mann did some years back with the slickness of a heist film, but even the remake of The Italian Job was so much better than Takers. It’s all gloss without ever going any further than the surface. Now we love films that are just fun shoot em ups like The Expendibles, but Sylvester Stallone knows how to pull off a film like that and make the audience want to go along for the ride.
The plot is pretty basic with expat Gordon Jennings (Elba) being the brains behind a highly polished and stylised, five-man crew of L.A.-based bank robbers/grifters who’ve made themselves rich enough to indulge their every yearning for sharp suits and fast cars while staying out of jail by carefully and cautiously planning and devising every job down to the smallest detail as any good bank robber will do. This is the formula they could followed carefully from films like Ocean’s 11, 12 and 13. A.J (Christianson) is the techie guy who plays it to a tee; John Rahway (Walker) is the driver and occasional sniper; Jesse Attica (Brown) is the one with heart like in every heist film, although the film doesn’t give him much chance to show it, and his brother Jake (Ealy), who’s head-over-heels in love with stereotypical gorgeous club-owner Lilli (Saldana), who is the financial expert who wisely invests their haul. When the film opens, the gang’s just pulled off an amazing robbery and are preparing to lay low for a year when their old flashy associate Delonte “Ghost” Rivers (Atlanta-based rapper T.I.) strolls in with the last plan that will set them for life. Doesn’t this remind you so much of Ocean’s 11, 12 or 13? Or even the bastard film idea of The Italian Job?
Basically, Takers is a poor man’s Michael Mann film and very poor at that. Best action movies ever likes the casting of the film, but like with some soups, it doesn’t matter what you add to it, if the base is crappy, you’re gonna wind up with some crappy soup.

Avatar Action Movie
Posted by admin in Action Movies on November 11, 2011
This article is about the amazing Avatar action movie. It’s directed by James Cameron, who also directed Titanic. This movie takes us to a completely new world! Well, actually it takes place on a moon called Pandora.
The hero of the story, Jake Sully, is a Marine who was wounded in battle. Consequently, he can’t walk anymore. His want for a healthy body pushes him to participate in the Avatar program. Jake travels to Pandora, a beautiful environment filled with many species. Some of them are beautiful, others are scary as hell! Pandora is also the home to the Na’vi. The Na’vi is a humanoid race that lives at a primate level. Their bodies are much more evolved than humans. They are ten feet tall and have blue skin. As humans invade Pandora in search of valuable minerals, the Na’vi’s are forced to fight.
Jake is part of this mission. Humans can’t breathe on Pandora. So, the scientists have created a human-Na’vi hybrid known as Avatars. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can walk again! During his mission, he meets a young Na’vi woman, Neytiri, and falls in love with her.
Jake gets deeper into becoming one of her race and he finds himself caught between the military and the Na’vi. This forces his to choose sides in a great battle that will decide the fate of their world. Avatar goes on new ground in delivering a fully immersed, emotional story. It will reinvent the moviegoing experience. James Cameron actually wrote the script years ago, but had to wait for technology to catch up to his ideas. Hit the link below to watch a short interview!

Top Ten Best Action Movies
Posted by admin in Action Movies on November 11, 2011
Here are the ten best action movies that got our adrenaline pumping and the dynamite exploding. We love action movies and have seen hundreds in our time.
10. Robocop: A cop is transformed after he is brutally murdered execution style by a notorious gang leader. He becomes a super crime fighter, a Robo Cop who is mostly machine with some remnants of his human memory/life. This film had lots of innovative fight scenes with robots, when that was the huge craze and robots were just becoming known in the late 80′s. Interestingly, Darren Aronofsky has been hired to film the remake, and Aronofsky is a brilliant director (The Fountain, The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream).
9. Commando: One of Arnold’s earlier films in the 80′s, the title speaks for itself. Schwarzenegger is on a mission to get back his kidnapped daughter, and not even an army will stand in his way. “You know when I said I’d kill you last… I lied.” This is Arnold doing what he does best, shooting machine guns and blowing stuff up. A movie where you don’t have to think.
8. Mission Impossible: Another great film with suspense and excitement. The Mission Impossible team is stealthy and sneaky. Suspended above lasers detection and holding on for dear life as an elevator rockets towards the ceiling. This message will self destruct in five seconds.
7. Rocky: You gotta love this one, “Yo Adrian!”. Rocky Balboa is the prototypical Philly Boxer, he don’t know much, but he can fight. This series was full of excitement except for Rocky V, that one sucked. But with Rocky heads up against fighters like Apollo, Clubber, and Drago, there is tons of boxing action!
6. The Transporter: Fast cars, fast fighting, and hot women. What could be better? Not much, “The Transporter” has it all and like to show off. The car chase scenes and fight choreography are to be admired. The plot is intriguing too, the women, are the package to be delivered.
5. Rambo: An ex special forces guy who can take out an entire police department with a rock and some sharp sticks. The Rambo series show us that with enough will power and makeshift technology, one man can be “an army of one”. One thing you don’t want to do is get on Rambo’s bad side. And yes they’ve made too many in the series, Stallone obviously never says die.
4. Aliens: The first and second and resurrection films in this series were well done. The Aliens depicted in these films are not to be messed with. They are scary looking and will haunt your dreams. Only flamethrowers and a helluva lot of ammunition will take them down. And even then after you shoo them, there could be acid splash back at you. Only Ripley seems to know how to take them down, and maybe that’s because she is carrying one of them inside her, and they don’t want to kill their own. These Aliens are like worker ants only much bigger and much deadlier. The hierarchy is the same though.
3. Predator: How do you kill what you can’t see? Arnold thinks “if it bleeds we can kill it”. Easier said than done as the Predator lives for the hunt and wants humans for trophies. His technology is vastly superior to the measly humans, but lucky for them he will fight on their level for “honor”. This is the only weakness that allow Arnold to have a sporting chance.
2. Terminator: First Schwarzenegger plays a cyborg from the future that comes to kill Sarah Connor, then in T2 he plays one that comes to save Jon Connor to fight for the resistance against Sky Net. I don’t know why but I always think that this apocalyptic scenario is always possible with our technology available. We all await to see whether Terminator: Salvation will be a blockbuster or a failure.
1. Die Hard: “yippy ka yay” This film has action ingrained in its cellophane. Most definitely the best action film of all time. An NYPD cop is trapped in Nakatomi plaza with a bunch of terrorist who hold his wife’s co workers hostage at during an office party. John McClane slips away when they seize control, and manages to undermine and kill off the terrorist one by one. John McTiernan directed this film along with the Predator film, and does an impeccable job.
